  • Critique my process

    I am changing my process and wanted some opinions.
    I have a 13 year old black truck and it is a daily driver that develops swirls.

    -Wash
    -Clay
    -Black Wax with Yellow Polishing pad (DAPS) - since it cleans and polishes
    -ULW (black pad)

    Does this look right? I used to use ULP but I'm substituting the black wax for the cleaning ability, after claying......unless I'm mistaken and ULP cleans as well?

    Thanks

    Are you working by hand or machine? What machine?

    And no... not planning to do much.

    If you want to fix the swirls, white wax would be better. Or using something like UC that is meant for swirl removal.

    not entirely sure what you mean by ulp.

      I'm using a DA.
      ULP= Ult liquid Polish
      I have UC, but don't want to make a habit of using it bc the paint is old and probably thin.

        I agree with Murr. White wax has more cleaning ability than black wax. UP also has the ability to remove light to moderate swirls. Deeper swirls would need UC.
