Whew, getting close to finishing up my paint correction/detail process! I've compounded the car with UC and gotten 95% of the swirls out. For the most part, I think it's LSP ready. I have a hint of holograms (remaining?) only visible in bright sun on the door panel, so I'm thinking of doing a polish step before LSP. I'm planning on using Collinite 845, so I'm wondering what needs to be done after the polish? Can I go straight to 845 after UP or do I need to do some sort of IPA wipe? I was thinking of using UQD but was concerned the hydrophobic polymer left behind might interfere with the collinite 845 adhesion? Any comments/advice would be much appreciated!

Re: Collinite 845 over UP?
You are fine to go straight to 845. I have used Collinite quite a bit over the years (845, 915, 476), it is very good. With that said, I find both Ultimate Liquid and Ultimate Paste wax to last just as long as 845 (although not quite as long as 915, or 476), but I find them much easier to work with than any of the Collinites. They also will play with any Meguiars polish or compound. What really seals it for me is I can use UQX, UQD and UW&WA with ULW/UPW and not have it change the looks or the hydrophobic properties.
