You should not have a problem removing the swirls. You've got the right products and machine. What pad are you using? Then there's technique questions... What machine speed setting are you using? What about motion and pressure?

Use the least aggressive approach first and ramp up as needed. Try this:
Start with M205 on a yellow polishing pad. Set the speed to 5. With moderate pressure, SLOWLY move your pad (no more than 1 inch per second) in overlapping rows in an area no larger than 2 feet x 2 feet. Then work the same area in a perpendicular pattern. Once you've completed these two passes wipe with a clean MF towel. Look closely at the area you just completed. If you see improvement but some swirls remain, then repeat with a 3rd and 4th pass until you what will work for you paint.

If you find M205 is not removing the swirls to your satisfaction, then try the same approach with M105 and use a correction pad.

Here's a good video from Meguiars demonstrating swirl removal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWN5LzSxAwg (BUT... move the machine across your paint MUCH slower than the video shows!) Really, just move it slow.
    Let us know the result.

    Hope this helps.

Do you have the yellow pad? The maroon pad can cause marring and is not recommended to be used. I am assuming you have the soft buff pads.

Now, it depends that what vehicle as well, because on each brand, they have their own paint and clearcoat hardness. Test spot is a must, tho.

You've mentioned that you have used the M105 to cut and this compound is the Jack Hammer for cutting the defect and it has less working time as well...... Anyways, try to season the pad with the compound and try it with two passes ( Left to Right & Up and Down ) with about 1 1/2 inches hand speed and the result should come out nicely tho.

If the swirl marks still there, then you were probably did not work and break down the compound well ( sometimes, if buffing too long this could create the swirl marks due to the dryness of compound residues that stuck on the microfiber while on buffing session )

As for running speed of the machine, if that was me, I will usually keep that at 5 and again have to know how to manage the time while one buffing session.

What other brand pads are available in your area? Lake Country?

Also do they carry the new thin Meguiar's foam pads in your area?

Try the yellow pad first with some M205. If you need to move up to M105, use that on a yellow pad.

Coach is right, technique is absolutely critical with the DA when it comes to defect removal. Through the course of teaching our Saturday Detailing 101 classes we've seen so many people do one or more of the following things incorrectly:

                    1) not enough speed from the tool
                    2) working too large an area
                    3) moving too quickly over the paint
                    4) not using enough pressure
                    5) not buffing long enough
                    6) not keeping the pad flat against the paint

Any one of these, done incorrectly, will slow down the defect removal process. Do two of them incorrectly at the same time and you'll go crazy trying to remove defects. For example, if you work too large an area (and this is extremely common) and you move too fast over the paint (probably the most common error observed) you won't accomplish much of anything regardless the pad, liquid, paint, etc. Keeping the pad flat is critical as well because with a DA, once you tip that pad a bit and stall the rotation, you lose cut very quickly.

Using M105 and our burgundy cutting pad is pretty aggressive. If the paint on this Mercedes is really hard, and some of the Ceramicoat clears on them are indeed quite hard, then you may find removal of severe defects to be a bit slow. But they still should come out with that combo. If you're moving too quickly and working too large an area, however, you'll just frustrate yourself. We wouldn't change liquid or pad, but we'd love to see your technique and help you with that as odds are that's what is holding you back. We know that isn't want people generally like to hear, but we've seen countless folks who describe their technique one way, yet when we actually see them in action it's an entirely different story.
