  • Near perfect new Tacoma -- Ulimate Wax with no polishing?

Just took home a new 2015 white Tacoma. Fresh off the transport. No surface contaminants. No swirls from the dealer's staff. OK just to wash with Megs Deep Crystal Car Wash and apply Ulimtate Liquid Wax? Makes sense to me.

If your content with the way it looks then it makes sense. Use the baggie test to determine if you need to clay or not. New cars can have contamination on them as well.

Should be ok, lucky you for having a new car with no paint issues.

For sure! When I did the first detail on my 2012 Ram, I found almost 80 debris nibs in the paint...every panel except the tailgate. I wet sanded and polished every one of them. Not something that ever want to do again on a new truck.

I also have a fairly new Tacoma. I would clay it whether it's feels like its deserving or not. Many times it will still brighten the paint and will offer you the very best surface to polish/wax.
Here's a pic of mine. Never polished ..... just clayed twice over the past year and CQuartz Reload applied religiously. Toyota definitely offers very good paint on these trucks.

Even though its new, you should still clay... Even if it doesn't need it (though it probably does even though its new).. It'll give you a greater appreciation for your auto.

Agreed. Clay is a fast process and well worth it..new cars can sit on dealers lots, and it rail transported..forget it..you think auto brakes are dirty? Try a train...
