  • How do I remove "spattered" compund?

Well, after buffing my 2001 Corvette Convertible for the first time, I managed to get spatter all over the inside door panels and black plastic door handles and such, most of it came off but many small dots remain. I have used de-natured alcohol, rubbing alcohol, amonia hot water.. no luck! Any advice??

    Hi r1_Addict,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

I'm not sure what your wiping with, but sometimes the nap of a terry cloth towel will help you remove splatter, (small dots of product), as the little cotton loops have the ability to abrade, or kick off the little dots of product.

You can also try misting a product like our Quik Detailer to soften and loosen the splatter.

What kind of compound were you using? If it's our 80's series products, M85 Diamond Cut Compound or M84 Compound Power Cleaner, these products are water-based and will dissolve and loosen with just plain water.
