  • How much compound per car?

Hi all my Name is Matt from Australia,
My question is roughly how much ultimate compound would you on average go through per average size car? Just want to know if I'm using too much or not enough.

First, welcome to the forum, I'm kind of new myself. I wouldn't know the exact answer to your question, I've never measured exactly how much compound I use per car, of course there are variables like paint condition, goals, type of pad being used, etc. but most of us when learning tend to use too much product, it's a very common mistake. if I had to guess I would say I go between 3-4oz per car. but it's just an estimate as I never measured before. maybe someone more experienced can answer your question better.

Thanks Aztec, fast reply I like that lol, yes it's hard to know what the right amount is and it's true for beginners you tend to use to much and that's a bad thing as its not cheap in Australia.
      Thanks again Aztec

If you use a thicker pad, it will soak up a lot more product. Also you tend to waste some when you're new. I've used 1/4 a bottle of M105 my first few cars using Harbor Freights pads. I just got the Meguiars pads, now I need a vehicle to use and test on...

          Matt!

You don't need too much UC at all. There are many variables, but I'd say you should be able to get about 10 average cars out of a bottle.

Start by priming the pad with your fingers. After that you only need about 3 pea sized dots on your pad per every section. A 'section' is generally about 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm) but that can obviously vary also.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
