  • Questions never asked before, UC question

Hello everyone., i have been following those forums weeks ago as i decided to do my car with my own hands instead of detailers here over my country.

the reason why, cause i always complain from swirls and those tiny scratches, they just do polish with very mild products (sonax 1 cut 6 gloss) or even waxing, they depend for the initial gloss to hide those swirls.

Frauds in my opinion, cause once the gloss fades , everything been hiding is still down there.

i bought myself a machine buffer DA, been looking for meguires products but for my bad luck, i did found only ScratchX 2.0 and the Ultimate Compund.

i have been using the Nxt tech2.0 wax and really meguires is been growing on me, so decided to do those swirls my self.

first there is no meguires swirl removal, only products i found is the scratch2.0x and the UC.

been reading those forums for hours, what i found is the after applying the UC i have to follow with some polish and wax afterwards, ( so sad hoped the UC is 3 in 1 and saves me time)

then am back into the problem were there isn't the meguires polish, only the scratch2x ( been reading its only for spot removal) and the Uc

i am already leaning towards UC but dont know what polish i've got to use afterwards.

    So to make myself clear:

1- Not enough products only scratch X2.0 and UC
2- After applying UC is it enough to apply Nxt 2 tech wax only ?
3- Scratch2X , can it be done for the entire care or just spot removal ? and also how its less aggressive than UC while UC can be applied for the whole car and scratchx2 not?

there are to links for pictures

. one with my car being polished with sonax 1cut 6gloss 50 50 but again after this shine faded all the swirls were left back

second photo for the products i found only.

    hope to get some responce

    thx

Ultimate compound is good for removing swirls and other defects and works really well. Use a cutting pad on your machine with it to remove defects quickly. just make sure to wax it afterwards because it will remove all the wax on the paint.

2: You are OK to use Ultimate Compound by hand or your dual action polisher, and then immediately proceed to using NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Our NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is actually considered a "polish/wax." It is designed to increase gloss as well as add protection. When it comes to Ultimate Compound, if using with a dual action polisher, we would actually recommend performing a "test spot" using one of our yellow polishing discs. Perform your test spot, and the inspect the paint under good lighting to determine if this combination has removed the defects to your satisfaction. If it did not, then you can move up to our Red Foam Cutting Disc with the Ultimate Compound, to step up your aggressiveness.

3: Scratch X 2.0 can be applied to the whole car if needed, but of course in small sections at a time. Scratch X 2.0 is a step down in aggressiveness from our Ultimate Compound.

We hope this information was helpful. Feel free to post further questions.

Re: Questions never asked before, UC question

Beautiful photos! It sounds like you'd be fine testing with Scratch-X, which is on the mild side, then follow with your NXT wax. A polish step would be better, perhaps with Ultimate Polish, but Scratch-X will "finish well", as we say. I've used both, but I seem to recall Scratch-X will finish with more polish than UC, although it may be hard to tell. If you're not pleased with the defect removal, move to UC on the next test, followed by Scratch-X more lightly. If all that is not enough, the answers get more complicated

You may have to find another brands polish. What brands do you have access to? Do you have access to the Meguiar's Mirro Glaze line such as M205?
