I use Ultimate Liquid wax on counter tops and the rims of sinks. Nothing you put in a sink will last as the cleaners and constant water will strip it quickly.
No experience here, however this is a automobile wax forum. If you want, you can wax it with a car wax and maybe put a shine on it for a brief period. However, the next time you wash anything with a dish detergent, the wax will wash off and back to a dull sink. Your best bet is to Google porcelain sink repair, and see if there are any remedies for your problem.
