  • I need help URGENT!!!

It all started when we went on vacation. I left my car parked in our apartment complex for about two weeks. When I returned I found this all over the drivers side of the car. I've tried washing it twice and it looks a little better but its still there. It also left like a bunch of ridges and which can be felt when a hand is ran across the paint. please help me get this off of my car with any ideas. It is a 2001 Audi A6 for your information.

That looks like some nasty water spotting you have going on there.

Start with claying the car and that will tell you if it is etching in the paint, or sitting on the surface. My guess is the majority of it is surface.

Anything left over you will likely need to polish the paint to remove.

Like meaning do the whole five steps after the clay. What do you mean exactly?

This only means that you can polish it after clay baring the car. If the polish doesn't get it off, which is very unlikely you can use compound. Once you get the spots off of your car you should wax your car, otherwise your clear coat would have no protection. Good luck!

You might try washing or soaking a small test spot with some white vinegar. If that is hard water deposits, the vinegar may remove it.

Water Spots can be deposits sitting on the surface of the paint, they can also stain or etch into the paint, or they can be a combination of both. If the deposits are sitting on top of the paint, the use of a clay bar will work to remove them & all bonded above surface contaminants. Water spots will commonly stain & etch the paint, and in this case, a product with mild abrasives, like a paint cleaner, cleaner/polish, cleaner/wax or compound will be needed to remove the stains. Which product is going to do the job all depends on the severity of the water spot stain. A good starting point is our Ultimate Polish Pre-Waxing Glaze, which contains mild abrasives, to help remove light swirls, scratches, & stains. If this does not work to remove the defects, our Ultimate Compound is a good next step. Any time cleaning & preparing products or polishes are used, it is recommended to apply a wax afterwards, since these products do not provide protection.

If you are working by hand, we typically suggest applying with a soft foam applicator pad, and removing with a microfiber towel.

Hope this helps! Feel free to post further questions.
