  • Removing Scratch-X "over-rub" from textured black bumper (pic)

Hi, all. If you'll look at the pic I was trying to remove the scratches from the painted strip above the bumper but obviously was way to liberal with the application. Will anything remove or at least improve the look of the white cloudy result I've ended up with? I've tried soap and water to no avail. Thanks.

    Hello,

Unfortunately I cannot see what you are referring to in your picture. In general, whenever we run into users experiencing a haze after applying our Scratch X 2.0, it is typically related to the applicator pad being used. We are not saying this is your case, but if you are not already, we suggest applying with a clean Soft Foam Applicator Pad like the kind which come with many of our waxes. If needed, a product like our Ultimate Polish or most any of our cleaner waxes like our Black Wax will also work to remove any haze.

Thanks, sorry not clear. I think the dirt is getting in the way. Basically the white cloudiness at the top of the bumper is scratch-x residue that I cant get off the textured plastic bumper. Well I think its plastic or vinyl anyway. So your'e saying apply cleaner wax to the black plastic bumper?

Ok I follow you now, my apologies. No do not apply polish or wax to the black plastic bumper. We would recommend using a mild all purpose cleaner, along with a very soft bristled brush, to agitate the areas the Scratch X residue is stuck in. A soft bristled brush can make all the difference for this situation at times. A product like our M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner also works very well. Follow up with a exterior plastic protectant like our Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer and you should be good as new.

You could try peanut butter as it will remove the white wax residue. Easy try the oils remove the white. Good luck

I had UPW stains on black trim on my 2012 Mustang before. Spent a LONG time figuring out how to clean it. I don't remember if I ever got it perfectly clean, but I think the Mr Clean Magic Eraser did the best job. I know that Meg's M39 and M40 didn't touch it. Don't remember if I tried APC at all, but simple green didn't either.
