Hi everyone,

Yup my first post here

I am getting these yellow spots on my car front and back chrome logo. The car is just 4 months old. Can you guys advice me what this is and how I can remove it and protect the chrome logo from this happening again.

BTW the car has paint warranty so should I show this to the dealer and ask them to change the entire thing?

I am not positive what this is, a wider angle picture would help. If this emblem is shiny & glossy, you can first wash the emblem with car wash soap or use a detail spray to remove the loose dust, and afterwards, a cleaner wax would be our first recommendation to try or a mild polish like our Ultimate Polish Pre-Waxing Glaze.

Hi Nicholas,

I tried taking a wider angle picture but spots are not visible much in them. See if the below pictures are of any use in identifying what it can be. I have tried rubbing them with Meguiar’s Ultimate Wash and Wax and after that with Ultimate Quik Detailer but nothing happened to these posts.

Those spots look like leftover bugs (to me).

Have you tried a bit of "cleaner wax"?

Just go gentle, that kind of 'chrome' is SUPER thin.

We would agree with Bill, just a mild cleaner wax is hopefully all that is needed.

Just wanted to reiterate this point. Plasti-chrome stuff is insanely thin.

I'd also recommend trying to clay it before the cleaner wax.

UQD or final inspection is usually enough to remove the stain from plasti-chrome, just be gentle and use a damp, soft MF so you don't scratch it.

otherwise , try some very mild polish+wax . Do NOT use metal polish, plasti-chrome is insanely thin.

Yes our A1214 Cleaner Wax Paste does come with a soft foam applicator pad.
