Maguires waterless wash and wax?

What are your thoughts on this product or others like it. Does it work like it says it does? I would like to use something like this when the truck is not real dirty but has something like bug splatters and road grime. For sure right now with the pollen season I would like to use something like this if it works to try and keep the truck clean without having to do a full detail because right now it's a waste.

Pollen, ahh. Yup, I see you're about 20 miles north of me. Here's hoping we don't get any more freezes because that would do in the fruit trees and bushes. Our blueberry bushes are already budding, and it's just the beginning of February.

I haven't used the product you're referring to, so I can't answer to its efficacy. Since you asked about other products like it, though, I am a huge fan of Ultimate Quick Detailer for pollen or other light debris. I actually use UQD when I go on motorcycle trips (anywhere from 5,000-9,000 miles in 2-3 weeks). I use it to keep the motorcycle maintained. Sometimes I go days without using it. While my bike is garage-kept at home, I don't use a cover when on trips so it's exposed to road grime, rain, bugs, and everything else in the air 24-7. UQD cleans the paint, windshield, any chrome/aluminum, and all the black rubber and plastic surfaces well, and leaves great hydrophobic properties. My bike is silver so it doesn't show swirls much, so that is less of a concern to me. I just want it to be relatively clean, and am also concerned with safety in regards to seeing clearly in my mirrors, seeing gauges, and having a clean windshield. On that note, windshields scratch easily and I've never had an issue with swirls on it.

With my truck, I usually just wash it as it's parked outside 24-7 on a dirt driveway. But I have at times used Last Touch (a quick detailer in the professional line). It also seems to do well in removing light grime and pollen without leaving swirls.

One caveat, light grime is very subjective. Also, application method is very important. You'll want to switch to a clean side of the microfiber towel often. With bugs I usually leave it on a little longer while I work on other parts of the vehicle to allow time for the bugs to soften. Like with many other products, a QD or something like that is as safe as the person using it.

I use UWWA on my El Camino.
It is kept in the garage, and not a daily driver. I have not washed it with water sine I purchased it three years ago.

Nick Winn recommended that I switch from a detailing spray to UWWA to gain a higher level of lubricity.
I expect to go through multiple microfiber towels. I spray onto the surface of a section. Then take a clean section of the folded towel for each section. While wiping in a straight line, I roll the part of the section I am using. This attempts to pick up the dirt and provide fresh towel as I continue with that wipe. You can see the dirt after the swipe on the towel. As you get better at rolling as you wipe, your visible dirt lines should get broader and less pronounces. Don't put the dirty part of the section back on the finish. I keep a fresh clean microfiber to wipe off the rest of minimal residue.

Our Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax (new name, same product as Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere) in my opinion, a true alternative to a traditional wash method. Meguiar's Quik Detailer sprays have always been designed for light cleaning, like light dust, fingerprints, etc. Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax comparing to our Quik Detailer sprays have much more cleaning & lubricating ability, and along with high quality microfiber towels & good technique, all working together, allow the user to safely clean a vehicle with dirt, road grime, etc. in a waterless type application. I normally use it for slight mud splatter on paint behind the wheels, or other spot cleanings when the car is not dirty enough to wash.

but I'm not using it on the entire car mainly due to the cost because IIRC,and according to the instructions , unlike QD where you lightly mist the surface and wipe, You are supposed to spray until the paint is slightly wet, that's a lot of product on a relatively small area.

can it be used to clean the engine or part of the engine bay?

i have to clean my engine but i don't want to use water in order to avoid water being in contact with electrical parts.

please let me know thanks

I would say that depends on how dirty your engine is. On my Corvair, I have been using the Quick sprays almost weekly on most of it, but every year or so I cover the electrical parts and hit certain areas where I can't get my hands with a spray bottle of laundry detergent, a paint brush into the corners, and then the hose. Then dry carefully.
