  • #83 and the Meguiar's 7000 pad

Is #83 DACP really designed to be best used with a cutting pad like the #7000 or 7006, or does it also work well with the Meguiar's #8000 polishing pad for removing medium swirls and defects on black?

The term "medium swirl marks" is all reletive....

Are you using a D/A Polisher or a rotary buffer ?

I'm going to start using the #83 with a rotary at about 1200 rpm, and then finish using a PC with #82

        OK...

With that said, you must first understand there is no direct answer that says, use this pad here, or use this pad there...We wish it were that easy

Unfortunately, you will just have to begin using the pads, and that will give you a better idea of what each pad is capable of. We do recommend using the least aggressive method possible, which means try the W-8000 first. If that is not removing the swirls to your liking there are a few options...

        1) Go to the W-7000 pad or
        2) Increase RPM's or
        3) Slow down your arm speed or
        4) Try a few more passes with W-70000...

This might not be the most direct answer your looking for, but I hope this helps

          Hi Dragon,

          Just to chime in here...

Remember that Meguiar's always tries to teach the philosophy of using the least aggressive product to get the job done, that not only applies to product choice, but also to pad choice, and even to application method, i.e. orbital, dual action, rotary or hand.
