  • Grade My Detailing Combo

So I am pretty new to doing full detailing on my vehicles. I have recently purchased a Griot's DA polisher and various pads, compounds, polishes, and waxes. The current combo I am settling on is as follows:

    D300/DMC 5"
    M205/DMF 5"
845/Blue or Black 5" Foam Pad

Wanted to find out from folks with more knowledge on their thoughts on that combo. Thanks!!
    Regards,
    SnyperX

    Hi SnyperX,

Which specific Griots Machine do you have? Is it the GG6?

M205 applied with our DMF5 DA Microfiber Finishing Disc is typically not used on a microfiber disc to follow a compound step. M205/DMF5 is usually used for defect removal with potentially great finishing ability, especially on harder paints. If you need to use D300/DMC5 and are looking to use a premium finishing polishing like M205 to further refine the paint & develop a high gloss, we would recommend applying M205 Ultra Finishing Polish with a foam polishing or foam finishing pad.

Before you go straight to D300 and the microfiber cutting pad, I would suggest a test spot with M205 on a the yellow polishing disc.

Adjust the level of aggressiveness from there.

If you're going to stay with microfiber, consider D302 Polish, as it was designed to perform with that DMF5 disc.
