  • Waxes, no white residue

Do any of Meguiar's waxes dry without leaving white residue? I have 1993 GP with several paint chips that have been touched up, but when I use GC, this wax leaves white residue in the chips, which causes them to be an eye sore. Other than that, I love the GC. Anyone have any product recommendations to avoid the white spots (other than a new paint job)? For some reason, I was under the impression that #26 will not dry white. Thanks.

M26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax dries clear. This is why we never use the blanket statement, Allow wax to dry to a haze before removing because M26 dries more or less clear.

Don't use this as an excuse to leave wax in rock chips, as you don't want any kind of residue building up in rock chips or in body seam or other cracks and crevices.

Give M26 liquid a try and see what you think, remember apply a think coating and allow it to dry until it swipes clear.

Thanks, Mike. I will try it. As far as the chips go, the residue is a no-no, but it is very difficult to clean those tiny specks one by one. Other than the chips, the paint is in pretty good condition.

Just ordered some #7 and #26.
