  • Headlight restoration results

About a month ago a picked up a kit put together by Crystal View I think for $20 bucks from the auto part store. The kit included 2 different grits of paper, some polishing compound and cloths, and some type of sealer. The directions were pretty well written and here are my results.
...This is my MIL's ....maybe 7-10 yr old van.

Those '90s Chrysler clear plastics are awful. Good work and nice save.

Awesome job!! Although I was watching a car show on how to restore older cars and the Host gave a tip....."Use Mothers Chrome Polish paste on the headlights" I tried it on several cars and it seems to work for lights not as bad as the ones above. So, if you see it about to start then try this.

What prompted the experiment was that she complained that she wasn't driving it b/c she was running w/ her high beams on and still could not see. I asked if I could try to clean them up for her...and viola.

just years of abuse i guess...the paint on it isn't that bad, but I hope to use it in the near future to practice a few more skillz on!

It was the kit from Cyrstal View from the auto part store. It had 2 grits of paper in the pack, marked 1 and 2...The actual grit of those papers was not stated. Maybe 1 was 1000, and 2 was 2000? Don't actually know.
