    HI everyone,

    Well I'm trying out the Meguiars Heavy duty kit on a 2005 Tucson and this is what I have accomplished so far...




    I am going to re-sand as there are still a few imperfections, these pics don't really show it but they are there.

    I think I had too much water on this first pass, going to try it using less water tomorrow, and see if it cuts them out, I'll post more pics tomorrow so you can see what I meant, and if it worked.

    If that doesn't do it would it be ok to use these sanding discs on a cordless drill?(with a 4" attachment )

    You don't really want to sand with a drill as it's basically a rotary device and sanding is best done by hand or with a DA movement. Remember, too, that this is "damp" sanding as opposed to "wet" sanding, so you only need a couple sprays of water on the area when sanding. Use the 1000 grit first, moving in straight lines in one direction (either side to side or up and down), wiping off the residue as you go. You should end up with a very uniform frosted look to the lens when done. Repeat as necessary until you achieve this. Then switch to the 3000 grit and sand in straight lines again, this time cross cutting the direction you did with the 1000 grit (if you went side to side with 1000, then go up and down with 3000). You should still have a uniform frosted look when done, but it will be much clearer and glossier than immediately following the 1000 grit. At this point you're ready to put the wool pad on your drill and apply the PlastX. Don't be afraid to run the drill at full speed, and methodically work it in overlapping strokes over the lens to fully buff out the 3000 grit marks.
