I want to get something good and reliable that is going to hold up over a long time, many cars, and provide excellent results. is this a good quality machine. I see that it is available on ADS and was wondering if you (onawrxhigh) had any opinion on it or anyone else that has used this machine. Thanks
I just purchased an extractor last month and as such I did a lot of research, as it was a big purchase. To be completely honest, I read a few complaints about the Durrmaid unit. One of the names that kept popping up was Mytee. Everyone who owned a Mytee brand extractor seemed to be very happy with the quality of the unit and the results. After doing even more research and realizing that the Mytee plant is actually not very far from me (good in the event of a warranty issue), I settled on getting a Mytee. My next hurdle was to figure out which model I wanted. Basically, I saw two options for a mobile detailer: 1) the Mytee Lite II (aka Mytee 8070), 2) the Mytee Spyder (aka HP60). The HP60 is a big step up from the Mytee Lite, both in terms of power and price. I wound up going with the HP60 and am very happy with my purchase. I was also able to convince my friend to get the Mytee Lite II and he too is very happy. They are both very high quality machines and both will serve you well.

The Mytee Lite will set you back around $675 and the HP60 will set you back $1080. Both machines are considered 'mobile' units and are good for mobile detailers. However, if you are working with pretty limited space, then go for the Mytee Lite II, as it is significantly smaller than the HP60. Thats not to say the HP60 is huge, but if you're working out of a hatchback or even the bed of a truck, I'd almost certainly go with the Mytee Lite. I have a 5x8 trailer, in addition to my truck bed, so I went with the slightly bigger, more powerful machine.

Furthermore, you might look at the specs of the Mytee Lite II and think that you're getting less than what you would with the Durrmaid. I have read reports from people who have direct experience with both machines that the Mytee Lite beat the Durrmaid hands down, and that either Durrmaid is exaggerating their specs or Mytee simply downplays theirs. So you can't necessarily go by the numbers alone.

For anyone who is serious about getting professional results with carpets, a hot water extractor is a must. It is hands down better than the Bissel machines. I owned a Little Green Clean Machine and at the time I thought that for the price it was a great little machine. The first time I used my extractor I realized what a joke the Bissel is. I got carpets much cleaner in a lot less time. If anyone is on the fence about an extractor... get one! Better results, less work.

For those that own the Bissels, please don't chop off my head because of what I said about the LGCM. For what it is, its not bad. It can do a great job of cleaning and its great for doing your own personal vehicles on the weekends. Once you want to start making money, however, its best to step it up to a real extractor, because once you use one you'll be blown away by how clean you can get your interior with much less effort than with a Bissel.

            Canadian Tire, Super Store, Costco....everywhere!

The refurbished models are $44. I went and got myself an Atlantis extractor for $80 at superstore.

i got a kirby vacumn that costs quite a bit of change. the most clean my carpet has ever been, without a extractor machine. it also gets all that **** that your normal vacumn doesnt. its pretty nuts, for a vacumn only. it can shampoo things, and has an attachment to shampoo, but doesnt do as well at that then its main purpose.

                Re: Carpet cleaners you use...

I have a van mounted machine for cleaning carpets. In the shop I have a Mytee M5, a little Mytee Tiempo. I had a DuraMaid but is a toy compared to real professional pieces. The M5 replaced an old Ninga that was about 10-12 years old.

I clean uph and carpets in homes day in and day out. You guys might be scared, but I normally clean at 300-500psi with a good rinsing-emuslifier in the stock tank and add a good prespray before I clean.

Not all fabrics are going to clean up the same as they are made out of different materials. I learned this when I first started 20 years ago when I could make a S-10 seat pop alive with some neutral cleaner and rinse, but like on a light grey Mazda tweed, I had to use some high PH shampoo from Carm.

Meguiar's makes a carpet brush. . . . .where do you buy this at????? Really, the Little Green Machine. . . . .I have a friend that has one and she swear's by that thing. . . .I might just have to get one!!! While I'm here I gotta ask, why when I use "over the counter" carpet cleaners/shampoo(non Meguiar's) does it leave the carpet feeling sticky(it leaves residue on your hands long after the carpet is dry)? I just cleaned/shampooed the the carpet in the back of my wife's Dodge Magnum and after I brushed the carpet, I took a wet damp rag and rubbed the carpet to get any left over soap removed and then vacuumed up what was left and after it dried, it still felt "sticky". . . .any idea's?!?!?!?!

Rinse it out with water so the dirt won't reattract and make it dirty again.
