  • Mildew on leather?

    Hi all,
I've got a '88 Porsche Carrera Targa to work on today (same one I did last year). I just have a questions about the interior. The back seats are black leather, and the seat back folds down. Apparently the owner always leaves them folded down, and there is now mildew on the seat bottom. What would be a safe way to clean the mildew off? Obviously whatever I use I'll test in an inconspicuous area first. I tend to want to use something like bleach that will actually kill the mildew instead of just wiping it off, but the idea of bleach on black leather (even well diluted bleach) just doesn't sound good to me. I thought about APC+, but again that seems to like that wouldn't really kill the mildew spores, it would just wipe the top layer off. Any suggestions?

I am not sure if this would work. I have never tried it. Aproduct like Clorox wipes or lysol wipes. If you read the ingrediants in the clorox there is no bleach. But they claim to kill 99.9 of all germs, and bacteria. Maybe this would woprk and then follow it up with the apc+. Hope this helps.

      Hello people,
I have not came across mildew yet but I have a client that had moved some of those red x-mas plants around in the back of her familey van and the red dye from the flowers got on to her leather and I cannot for the life of me get that stain out! it is red and very stubborn..
