Hi, I want to clean my plastic interior before applying dressing but I don’t have an APC. Can I use diluted carwash like NXT instead of APC? Maybe dishwash fluid? Or glass cleaner? Or clean, warm water?

Re: What instead of APC
While a very dilute NXT Car Wash solution would be fine, you would have to be sure that you rinsed all the soap off the surface. This would be best accomplished by following with a clean, damp towel after the initial cleaning - perhaps even a couple of times just to be sure. Definitely stay away from dish soap though as it's much too harsh. As an alternative you could dilute a general purpose household cleaner 50/50 with water and dampen a towel with that. If you have access to M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner from our Mirror Glaze line that would be an excellent choice.
But before you do any of that, which dressing where you planning on using? Some dressings, like Natural Shine and M40, contain mild cleaners that may be sufficient for your purposes.Michael Stoops

Thanks Michael for your recommendations
I'm going to use Natural Shine. Used for first time on drivers door panel NS gave some white, dry-looking streaks. Well, I thought, the panel has been cleaned with some cheap, greasy products since I could remember, so NS may react that way
To help things out I decide to use some wash solution to remove dust, dirt and old products from plastics. Following your words I used a well watered NXT wash solution and foam applicator. The results were quite impressive because a gallon of NXT solution literally went black. Wow, I was very surprised how much dirt can be hidden in plastics.
After that I put thin NS coat with foam applicator, then buffed with MF towel and… bye-bye nasty streaks. Now, all the plastics look great. As they should.
Thanks again for your help!

Nice to see things working out so well for you. Amazing how much dirt can become embedded over time, isn't it?!

Re: What instead of APC
I found Interior Quik Detailer to do a pretty good job of cleaning plastic interiors. I first dampen a microfiber cloth with the product, thoroughly work it into the cleaned element and wipe dry with another MF. Then I apply a dressing of choice. I always apply the dressing as IQD tends to leave plastics looking very matte and I prefer some shine.
On more heavily soiled plastics I could recommend Extra and All Purpose Cleaner Wipes for the cleaning step.
