  • Using G100 w/ Nxt (liquid) wax questions

When using the g100 to apply the wax I know I should use the finishing pad. But should I still do 2 coats. And should I use the same technique as if I was using speedglaze trying to remove swirls? mainly slowly working a 3 x 3 ft space going vertical, horizontal and diagonal w/ over lapping strokes? Or can I just do a whole panel at a time only moving in 1 direction with moderate speed with overlapping strokes. Oh yeah what speed should I use...3?

Use a slower speed like 3, move quickly as you are not polishing, just applying wax. Overlap minimally and keep the thickness of the coat of wax as thin and even as possible. The recommendation for 2 coats is to cover areas you might have missed, it doesn't really add a double thickness of wax. Since I have 4 cars in the family, soon to be 5, I rather wax 2 cars in the same time as waxing one car twice as I haven't found that the wax lasts longer by double waxing. When I do double wax, I use NXT first followed by a coat of #16 hard paste wax to take advantage of the best properties of both.
