    You got it there!

When I first bought my truck(black) I was expecting crystal clear paint all the time (coming from white), I have the knowledge and the tools/products to accomplish this. Well thats not the case if you plan to drive the vehicle, even more so if its a daily driver. Seems no matter how hard you try its not going to be perfect, it might be one day but the next its not. As mentioned above every thing you do seems to scratch and swirl black paint especially if you are looking for 'perfect' can get very frustrating.

plates300... your update photos look great!

The photos look good! As for orange peel, it can't be worse than a Ford look it up 'orange peel' the dictionary and you will see a photo of my truck.

Don't stress out over the orange peel, really nothing you can do about it... Like mentioned above black is a pain!

I know the end result will be worth it, but this is probably my first and last black car. The paint on this g35 is not consistent at all. The front fenders are much softer and I have to use 82 but the doors and panels I have to switch to the 80. Black just takes too long for someone who doesn't have that much experience with dark cars.

Finally done after 4 days of detailing...process was:

            wash/clay
1 pass of #80 with white polishing pad
2 passes of #82 with black finishing pad
            #7 applied by hand
            1 coat of NXT
didn't get to take any pictures in the sun because I got done way too late.

The overall finish wasn't too bad...I was completely anal at first, shining the xenon light and polishing the same spot for an hour at a time. I guess you just have to accept what you can when it comes to black paint.
