Re: what kind of polish ?

It kind of depends on what condition your paint is in and what your goals are.

Do you have light/moderate/severe swirls? Do you want to remove most/all of the swirls or do you just want the paint to shine and be glossy?

As far as what else to do before applying wax, see this 5 Step Paint Care Cycle thread.

Since you have the G110, the M105/205 combo would be pretty good if your paint is in bad condition, if its not in bad condition then just 205 may work well.

You should do some test spots with different products and see the results

Since you have the G110 you have a lot of products to choose from that will work effectively

Re: what kind of polish ?

Jesse, Meguiar's has a number of options for you.

The long-standing basic package has been M80 and M83. M80 has been described as "idiot-proof" and is regularly recommended, not just here on MOL but on several different forums.

But Meguiar's has recently released a couple new polishes that you may wish to consider: M105, M205, SwirlX, ScratchX, and Ultimate Compound. As John notes above, "It kind of depends on what condition your paint is in and what your goals are."

I can tell you what I have decided to do. Though I have M80 and M83, I have decided to go with the new polishes, so I recently purchased a bottle of M205 and SwirlX. My plan is to use M205 as my basic polish and to use SwirlX when I need something stronger--and if SwirlX doesn't cut it ... well, I can always pick up a bottle of Ultimate Compound or, more likely, I'll just learn to live with the imperfection.

        I hope this helps.

Be sure to check out Dave KG's Guide to Dual-Action Polishing.

Keep it simple and keep it fun!

        Cheers,

Re: what kind of polish ?

For any DA user, its always a good idea to keep m80 or m83. I love the m105/205 combo but its hard to tell when the polishes are broken down so its good to start off with m80 and m83.

          Just my 2 cents.

also, i wanted to apply the sealant im thinking after i apply the wax? which sealant should i get?

83/80 and 105/205 and four polishing pads, and one finishing pad.

There are lots of options/products from which to choose, but one that may work is:
                1. Wash
                2. Clay
                3. M80/M83 or M205/M105
                4. Polish (optional)
                5. NXT 2.0 or M26
Because you have light paints, I'm not sure you'd see much difference from a pure polish. Also, M80 is already pretty rich in polishing oils.

Waxes and sealants pretty much do the same thing - protect your finish. There is no need to apply a "sealant" after your "wax." Check out this thread for clarification http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28676

Test your process/products on a small area first to make sure you get the results/look you want before doing the entire vehicle.

                Have fun.

Is the M80 work out well with a PC 7424 ? I just recently purchased the PC and was looking for some advice. In the past i have always used Lake Country pads. With the M80 snd PC7424 combo what pad do you all recommend ? Thanks

Re: what kind of polish ?

Ive used Sonus pads with no problem I would suggest you to get a backing plate with a velcro backing if you haven't done that yet.

Lake Country pads are nice so are Sonus but I would suggest some of those new 2.0 Pads from megs. They're awesome.

Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing Pad, W8207. I'm have not used LC pads, but would assume their comparable "polishing" pad would work well, too.
