Can i use the pc 7335 sander as a polisher?

I was recently given a PC 7335DA sander

Does anyone know if this sander can be used as a polisher? As far as it sees from the outside it is pretty much the same as the other PC DA polishers i have seen on pictures.

Besides that, i tested the sander today on a small part of my old car to see how it worked. This is the first time i try a DA and i was hoping to see it to somehow rotate but it seems to vibrate more than it rotates, is this the expected behavior? Also i noticed that as i put more pressure on it it rotates even less and seems to stop and only vibrate...

Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Disregard that information on the counterweights. You won't see a difference when polishing paints.


The Porter Cable DA has a clutch, which will stop the rotation if too much pressure is applied. It's a safety feature, but it holds it back from removing serious defects.
