  • Ultimate Compound or M105 and M205?

    Hello,

I need some help. I polished my car recently with Megs Swirl-X (wanted to start with the least aggressive). Anyway, this corrected about 99% of my paint. However, I still have a couple of swirls on my trunk lid, and a small scratch that I just can't seem to tackle with Swirl-X. So, I was debating on whether or not I wanted to bump up to Ultimate Compound, or just get some M105 and M205? What are your thoughts?

How does M105 and M205 work? If I use M105, do I have to follow up with M205? I'm assuming that M105 is the more aggressive of the two?)

As far as Ultimate Compound goes, can I just hit the trunk lid with UC and then follow up with a sealant wax? I guess my question is, does UC make the paint LSP ready?

    Thanks much!

    Jeff

P.s. I would like to go pick up one of these today, so any feedback would be great...

hey. I would start with ultimate compound first. that should do the trick. then follow up with some wax or sealant. its not as aggressive as the m105. but m105 and m205 is an AWESOME combo. I've been using them and following up with m21 sealant and it truely give your one amazing shine. You always need to seal/protect the paint after compounding or polishing. anyways. hope this helps!

M105 / UC will be similar, and SwirlX / M205 will be similar, though not exactly the same.

There is a good chance that UC/#105 would finish LSP ready, but cant say for sure until you do it.

If you say that you got it 99% good from the SwirlX, then I would try ScratchX 2.0 first, then Ultimate Compound.

M105 is quite a bit stronger than Ultimate Compound, and it doesn't sound like you need such a significant jump in firepower here.

Check your work after UC/ScratchX 2.0, as sometimes it leaves an LSP ready surface, and sometimes you need to follow with something like SwirlX.

        Hope this helps.
