ScratchX or Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner?

Hi guys,

My Murano (black) has swirl marks and light scratches all around the body. I believe these are the clear coat scratches. The car is less than a month old when I bought it so its fairly new. I think those scratches/swirl marks came from the dealer, it got washed about 3 times during services.

Is ScratchX better to use for these type of removal or the Deep Crystal? I read ScratchX is good for isolated paint scratches and the Deep Crystal is for all around the vehicle. Which one do you guys recommend?

Use SwirlX or Ultimate Compound. They do a much better job. Deep Crystal is a very mild paint cleaner and probably won't do much for your swirls and scratches.

I would pick up a bottle of SwirlX, and and do a test spot.

If that isnt quite strong enough, then you would want Ultimate Compound.

Wow very quick replies, thanks guys.

Since my paint is pretty new, wouldn't using Swirlx and Ultimate Compound mess up my paint? The marks/scratches are not deep, I can't feel them when I slide my fingers on them. I'm also new to polishing and buffing with a DA so I'm afraid to use harsher compounds like the two mentioned above.

No, SwirlX is actually going to be replacing DC1 as the mild cleaner.

And yes, you would certainly use it first, before steping up to something strong like UC. But no, they wont mess anything up.

Do you have a DA to be using? What kind?

So DC1 is going to be discontinued? In that case, SwirlX for me for now. Is it stronger than Scratch X?

I don't a DA yet, I'm still deciding between the G110 & PC 7424XP. The G110 seems to be on the more expensive route though specially their pads (I love the sound of the new washable pads though). I'll be ordering by the end of the month.

SwirlX is stronger than ScratchX, milder than ScratchX 2.0

You will be able to use the Meguiars pads with the PC or G110, no matter which you choose.

Or you can just detail by hand.... thats when you might want the UC.
