    Re: work with my DA

Let's see what we can do here......

Do you really need a heavy compound? M105 would fall into that category but should only be used when needed. Remember, it is Meguiars most aggressive compound and should be used only when needed.

M105 may haze the paint a little or a lot depending on how hard or soft the paint is. But, that is why they maed M205; to take out this hazing.

Ultimate Compound workes very well on a DA for heavy swirl removal and works like a fairly aggressive compound. Remember, it may finish very well, but it is still an aggressive product. This is easier to work with on a DA as it offers a longer buffing cycle.

For finishing, I would look into some M205. This product can be worked for very long periods of time and increases clarity and adds amazing depth to the paint.

A glaze does not replace a wax by any means. It should be used as the second to last step before applying a wax. Now, is it important? It might be. A lot of factors come into play here: single stage paint or base/clear coat paint, age of paint, manufacturer of the paint, and the amount of tiem you want to put in. In most cases, especially with clear coat finishes, a glaze/pure polish is optional but may do wonders to darken the finish.

Is M83 a medium compound? In most cases, it is not. It is used to tackle swirls, stains, medium scratches, etc. However, if you use it with a wool pad at 1800 RPM, I am sure it cna act like a medium compound for at least a few seconds. Each product's strength or aggressivness is really determined by the paint you are working on. For example, M83 may be enough to tackle all the imperfections on a Honda but might not be able to pull out even the finest scratches from a Corvette paint job. Aggressiveness is also determined by the type of pad you use. Wool is more aggressive than foam. There are so many variables involved that it is very difficult to determine the exact strength of each product at all times.

    Hope this helped!

if I understand the best to do a compound is a rotary buffer and a wool pad, medium swirl I can use m83,for finishing and light swirl m205 and for a glaze I can use M5...it is correct??
