  • Ordered Polisher noob question

I recently purchased the V2 polisher from Meguiars and was removing swirls as some may know in the other threads and got the back plate then ordered one of the yellow soft buff 2.0 pads. I am just curious if the professional products are any better then the consumer. I currently have a bottle of SwirlX and Ultimate compound. I was just curious if there was any advantage of the professional products to the consumer. Thanks.

    Re: Ordered Polisher noob question

Professional products (Mirror Glaze and Detailer Brands) come in larger sizes. Additionally, Mirror Glaze products are designed to be used by DA (most of them) and rotary while UC and Swirlx are not designed for rotary use. UC and Swirlx can also be used by hand whereas many Mirror Glaze cleaners can not.

UC and Swirlx though should take care of any problems you have.

      +1

The consumer products being formulated for a DA polisher are actually easier to work with when using a DA polisher. They won't dust up, will give you longer working times etc.

If you come to a point where UC isn't aggressive enough to remove your swirls, you may want to consider M105, but first I would focus on your technique. Likely improving your technique will make a bigger difference and save you money.
