  • Other people's understanding of car detailing

I find this incomplete, as some parts of the process are missing, in particular paint correction/ swirl removal.

    Please read the last Q&A.

Re: Other people's understanding of car detailing

We don't really want to get too deep into why the good folks at Dodo Juice (hi Dom & PJ!!) didn't get more in depth there, but let's face it - they make what can be classed as boutique style, higher end carnauba waxes and some light cleaners so it makes sense that they really concentrated on a carnauba technology and what sets their line of waxes apart in the marketplace. Yes, they do make some light duty cleaners that are really more of pre-wax cleaners than any sort of heavy duty defect removal products, further negating any real need on their part to get into a deep discussion about defect removal. And since you don't find Dodo Juice products on the shelves of your average auto parts store or high volume retailers, that means they really do cater to the more educated enthusiast detailer. That also means their customer base is most likely already participating on a detailing forum somewhere and know a lot more about the overall processes than the guy who buys a can of wax every couple of years and calls it good. And that guy would most likely never spend the kind of money Dodo Juice is asking for their waxes. Enthusiast detailers, on the other hand, will gladly pay what Dodo Juice is asking, and they'll buy a few of the different offerings to boot!

If you're inclined to try out some higher end carnauba waxes, don't let that last question stop you from trying any of their products. There's a reason why so many people like their stuff.

You guys at Megs have the entire philosophy behind your products, and most importantly it works. The results are great and that's what counts.

I've seen a number of other manufactures and forums on the net without "the philosophy" -- only products and advises here and there. I've never tried Dodo, so I can't comment, but there is something missing there, and that something is VERY BIG. Its paint correction/swirl removal or whatever we call it. Why mask swirls/imperfections with exotic waxes?

It would be easier for them to produce a descent product such as UC or 105 .. otherwise there is a big hall there.
