  • Just pulled the trigger on the MT300

I just ordered the MT300 and cant wait to put it to the test. My paint is in fairly good condition , some very light swirl marks. My plan was to use the polishing pad with Meguiars ultimate polish and finish that with Wolfgang paint sealant 3.0 with the finishing pad. I will be using the new thin foam pads . My questions are #1Will the ultimate polish be strong enough to remove very light swirls on Toyota paint ? #2 Will the ultimate polish stain trim , plastic etc?#3 Is there anything you like to prime a new pad with? #4 How do you clean/wash the pads when you are done with the job?#5 I dont have a garage so is it ok to polish in the sun?Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first da. Thanks

    1. A test spot, test spot, test spot. Let the paint tell you what it likes.

    2. Yes it will

    3. Read this http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...-polisher.html
Watch this video and pay attention to what Kevin Brown says and shows about pad priming or seasoning as he likes to call it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUdnj4CVFmQ

    4. APC with warm water works great in getting the new thin foam discs clean.

    5. It's not recommended to polish in the sun. It would be best if you found some shade. I would recommend you watch some of Mike Phillips videos on Autogeek's youtube channel to get better understanding of the technique in using a DA.

The MT300 is a great tool. Enjoy it and have fun.

No problem. Thanks for the compliments. I have not used wolfgang. I hear good things about it.

Are you planning to remove the polishing oils from UP prior to applying wolfgang?

Good question not sure, what would you suggest? If I did do you think APC at 10to1 or dawn or or just shampoo plus? Any adverse effects from going from polishing to sealant?

It's completely optional. It's not like the sealant will fall off the paint if you leave it on. The only reason I brought it up is because of the different product brands. There are a few ways to do it such as another wash, IPA, D114 at 6:1.

If I was short on time I would just apply it over the polish. If I had more time I would remove it.

            Good article to read.
