  • Wetsanding with the MT300

    Hi guys,

I'm not sure this is a stupid question or not but here goes:
Does it make sense to try to remove orange peel on a car using this combo: MT300+ DBP5 5" backing plate + S6FI foam interface + Unigrit Sanding disks.

Weekend warrior here and my brand new MT300 soaked up my power tool budget for the time.
A hand sander is not on the radar.

So, is it ok to put a S6FI on a MT300+DBP5?
Does wet-sanding with the MT300 makes sense? Or would it take forever to get anywhere with it?
Should I dispense with the foam interface altogether to get any texture levelling done?

What process would be appropriate for a clear coated rather hard paint like I have on my VW?
    1000 grit+ 2000 grit+ 3000 grit? Or just go 1500 grit+3000 grit?

    thanks,

    Crazy Vinny

    Drats.

Learned the Unigrit Sanding disks have been discontinued for years.
I guess this was a stupid question after all.
