  • what the gray noe on the G100A?

i can not find G100A or PC in my country.
so i found some similar ones.
but i can not see the gray one on the G100A(just between pad
    and body)
will it do anything if i don't have this.

That "grey " thing between the backing plate and the main unit is what gives the unit a orbital effect, without it it would be like a rotary polisher. It is a off center weight, some units are 5" and others are 6".

The G100 is basically a wood sander with a foam pad on it for polishing paint. There are a zillion orbital, electrical sanders on the market and some folks are able to attach a foam pad onto them to polish paint.

To date, most of them do not offer the power the G100/PC offers and most of what people post about their experience is they are unable to remove defects like swirls and scratches.

You can also look for a Porter Cable 7424, it is the same as the G100 but does not have a life time warranty.

What you showed is a rotary buffer. Simply put, a rotary buffer only turns round and round. There should be lots of them in Taiwan if that's what you're looking for, as that's where a lot of the non-namebrand ones are made.

Like Mike suggested, any random orbital sander would work, but most are not as powerful. The highest I've seen is one of Dewalt's sanders, rated @ 3.0amp / 360w (versus 3.7amp / 444w for PC).
