    Did i make the wrong choice?

    I just bought a Dewalt dw849 and am wondering if I made the right choice. I have seen more and more people picking up the makita and putting down the dewalt. (Not too many people around here have either to try so trying one is outta reach.) I know this is a loaded question (and highly opinionated) but did I bite the bullet too soon on my choice? (btw this is my first rotary.)

    Either one of those two machines is fine. I own both, and use them both.
    The only reason I prefer the Makita over the Dewalt, is because it's the machine I first began using, and ergonomically it feels more comfortable for me. I don't think you could go wrong either way, it's all about personal preference.

      I have a few friends with both Dewalt and Makita. One also has a Flex, and they agree the Dewalt is a fine machine. One favors his Flex and the other his Dewalt. I think you made a fine choice.

        Agree with Erik. Its a preference. Some likes it heavy (dewalt) some dont. But its certainly a good buy on the dewalt... I'll definately buy another if I have another spare hands sticking out of me

        add info: on the dewalt, power comes on straight out. On makita/hitachi it has a smoother start (not sure what you call/say it exactly).

          I love my Makita but I'm sure you'll be happy with the Dewalt. I've read good things about the Dewalt when I was shopping for my first rotary a while back. Obviously, I chose the Makita. Enjoy your new rotary and practice as much as you can with it.
