Wash applicator pads right after using

Should I wash my wax applicator pads, right after I used it? I noticed on one of my pads, the wax is stuck on the surface and deep-down. I tried using dishwashing detergent, warm water and degreaser to remove this. I think I waited too long to wash it.

i usualy leave my aplicators, in a bucket with dawn and some degreaser and about 2 gallons of water, and just let it sit overnight. that does the trick for me
