  • methods of application of wax: a circular motion or straight movements

puzzled.) interested in the form of application and quality (gloss, ease of polishing, the durability of the deposited security, etc.). ScratchX: small, but abrasive and applying clear, circular. intesesuet waxing, such as NXT,Gold Class,M26,M21 etc. because you can "smear" and leave to dry) and it is possible to work through: inch by inch to rub it, work on problem areas. th) like myself answer to question), but suddenly I'm wrong, suddenly all these years, I worked not 100%) share how you apply the wax and why this method is better?) I stopped by a circular drawing)

    Hi therapy

I am sure someone more expert than myself will come along to help shortly. But personally i try to apply a wax or sealent in even straight lines if i can, therefore if there are any contaminants on the surface that have appeared since washing any marring/scratches induced will be more difficult to see if they are in straight lines rather than circular. Mike P has a good video on You tube showing this.

Poducts like ScratchX again mostly straight lines but sometimes circular motions can help break down the micro abrasives better.

As i said i am not a real expert just a keen amateur and more expert advice wil be on its way.

Thanks Rob) here and I'm about the same) yesterday inflicted wax, tired as a dog, and for the last item dealt with straight lines. waited about 30 minutes and remove. shine the same, a similar gathering of water, BUT! I noticed that the circular motion is better masked minor scratches. my opinion. it is possible that I'm just tired and it seemed to me)

PS. Now I have a Meguiar`s logo on the back window of the car)) )))))) Hurrah! Hurrah Hurrah!

As mentioned, you can pretty much apply any direction you want if the pad is clean.

With a paint cleaner, you can just wipe it around in any motion if just doing a mild cleaning. For removing swirls, you may find you can get more pressure behind the pad going in short straight lines.

With a wax, you kind of want to make sure it gets into all the imperfections, etc in the paint. So a more random, circular motion might do that better.

A straight line motion is only used when trying to ensure a swirl free, show car finish. Using straight line motions ensures that even if a little piece of grit, dust, etc. gets betweeen the applicator and the paint, and scratches the paint, the scratch will not be as noticeable as scratches in other directions.

You would have to be under the right light, looking at the right height, and looking at the right angle in order to see that scratch. However, the directions of the typical swirls allow people to see the scratches at any heiight, at any light and at any angle.

It ist just another safety measure to ensure keeping your finish looking immaculate.

Personally, I use circular motions as it tends to cover better and more evenly.
