  • Washing mit fell apart

I've only used my Meguiar's wash mitt 4 times and its fallen apart. Its not the microfiber wash mitt, but the other wash mitt. The hairy one. The elastic wrist band separated from the mitt and then the web area between the thumb and the pointer finger area got a hole. Kinda disappointed that it didnt hold up longer.

Where are you located? I was unaware Meguiar's made mitts like that, sounds like the lambs wool ones that are sold all over the place.

Huh. That's interesting. Must be an oldie (maybe that's why it fell apart?). Give CS a call and they will take care of you. You may end up getting a MF mitt which are the best!

Yes, we would be curious to see this mitt. We have not heard many similar complaints about any of our wash mitts. As another member already pointed out, the new X3002 Microfiber Mitt is the only wash mitt we have been selling in the U.S. for over a year now. If this is indeed a Meguiar's wash mitt it has to be fairly old. If you have a receipt or the mitt to verify it is a Meguiar's mitt we will be happy to upgrade you to our new Microfiber Mitt. Please do not hesitate to give us a call.

                Re: Washing mit fell apart

I still see the older Meguiars products sold at our local autoparts/sports/everything stores. Could have been sun damaged and thus fell apart when you used it........??

                  Re: Washing mit fell apart

yeah the wash mitt is still in the trash but theres no way to verify that its a meg's wash mitt. Theres no tag on it, the packaging is long gone and no receipt. Oh and its sheep skin not lambs wool. oh well i guess it was old stock that this store had and i happened to buy the last one. guess its time to upgrade to a MF mitt.

Rinse with hose water and hung over the edge of my cleaning bucket is how i cleaned it.

If it makes you feel any better, the MF mitts are only $5 now. I bought 3 of them when they first came out for $10 each.

                      Re: Washing mit fell apart

I have a non meguiars brand and often leave it outside, I rinse it and I have one of those bucket pocket gizmos that I store it in along with my brushes and handles and I do leave it outside at times.
