  • 3M (05739) pads question with Meguiar product

    Hi,
I have 4 of the 3M Perfect-It Hookit II Foam DA Glazing pads. The part number on the pads is 051151-05739 I was wondering which Meguiar products would work best with these pads.

I like to see if I can use either #83 (Body Shop Professional Dual Action Cleaner/Polish) or #80 (speed glaze) with the pad?

    thank you in advance.
    Sean

      The 05739 I think is a dark grey/black color.

More a finishing than a polishing or cutting pad.
      It's pretty soft like a W-9006

Not the right choice for #83 IMO

        Superior Shine,
Just like veedub Mike stated. dark grey almost black. It is not a smooth surface like the Meg pad. Instead it got groves similar egg holder or foam packaging stuff.

I was thinking if 3M use it for glazing. I can use with #80 instead of #83???

I took a picture so I'm email it to you Superior shine. I try adding the picture but no luck. Still learning and reading stuff on MOL to get more information how to do so.

Thanks for the pic. Too soft of a pad isn't good for paint correction. I am guessing those pads would be best with something very light such as swirl free polish or simular.
