Any chance you can provide pictures, and describe what model TL you have?

              to MOL!

Black paint + infamous soft Acura clear coat = great opportunity to become really good at swirl removal!

Seems like you have swirls and holograms.

Looks like Nighthawk Black (Honda speak) with all those blue sparkles over black paint.

Nothing shines like it once you've got it nicely polished.

My hood had been keyed and there were fine scratches, swirl marks, and cracking clear coat. I was prepared to spend $400 to have the hood repainted. I tried an agressive multi-step restoration process using Meguiar's products. You won't need to do anything this agressive. Here's a link to my PhotoBucket site with a slideshow of the process.

You at the right place for advice on how to maintain the Nighthawk finish. Click on the link below to view the show.

                    Cheers,

                      Welcome to MOL!

The color on your car looks amazing when it's all polished up. My fiancee has an RL in the same color.

Do you have a polisher like the Porter Cable or G110?

You may want to look at getting some of the new M205 or SwirlX.

IMO M07 really addes to this color too!

                        wow thats amazing.
I have those same scratches on my hood..from the rocks on the freeway...It looks like I have to do some wetsanding... Those are great pics! I hope to learn a lot from this weekend's class in Irvine.
Ya, same nighthawk black color. I thought Acura uses some other paint stages..but the bottom line...is its the same stuff.
