Hi, I am new but I have been lurking the boards for a long time. The old articles are all very informative and almost all my questions have been answered there. But I still predict I will be pestering you with more.
All I can say is you guys really rock, the kind of results you have gotten and shared the pictures of. You're an inspiration.
What brought me to an interest in detailing, I confess, is wanting to learn to detail my engine compartment, plus having some scratches in my car that I wanted to repair. Both of these had me finding videos on Youtube, which led me to watching some of the Meguiars videos.
So that's a long story short, here I am and I just bought Meguiars complete car kit on Amazon.com for $43, this one:
and with it I also bought Ultimate Compound, and it all arrived 2 days ago. Just to mention, it does come with ScratchX 2.0, even though original ScratchX is pictured. The Gold Class liquid wax, that is the original not the new one.
My future victim vehicles include my 1997 white Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer (The opposite of black, I know), then there is my husband's 1990 Volvo S70 that is more of a cream color white, oh well. Then there is my bike, a 2002 deep blue/purple Buell Blast.
It has been hovering around 32 degrees here in Kansas City. It may be a few weeks before I can take anything outside and really work on it.
Except for all the projects I find around my house to experiment with. They say when your only tool is a hammer, everything starts looking like a nail. I made my microwave window really sparkle with PlastiX.
I'll see you later
