  • Hello from SoCal!

hello Meguiar's Online! My friend turned me here after he got me into car detailing. Definitely still a newbie and I'm slowly building up my collection of Meguiar's car care supplies lol.

I'm 25 and a recent graduate from Cal Poly Pomona as a Mfg Engineer. I also got promoted to full time salary at my job when I graduated. So as a graduation present to myself, I picked up a '11 Subaru Impreza STI 5-door . It's my daily driver so I have put VentureShield PPF and mudflaps as a way to protect the notoriously soft Subie paint.

Other than being an engineer, I'm the son of an auto mechanic. As such, we pick up cars that people don't want to spend money to fix. Back in the 1980s when 60s cars weren't worth all that much, my dad picked up a 1966 Mustang coupe (289, 2bbl, 3-spd auto). I drove it for a few years when I lived on campus but now it's awaiting its restoration. I still fire it up once in a while but she mostly sits dormant.

We also have a 2006 Tundra and a 1999 Lexus LS400, which was the first test subject of my paint correction skills. I had my friend supervising me so I wouldn't mess anything up. The results were great. Paint was looked deep and the surface was so smooth to the touch. However, we only did some of it (hood and trunk lid) so I still need to find the time to clay, polish, and wax all of it.

    See you guys around!

here's a photo of my daily driver. surprisingly civil and convenient for something that has roots in rally racing. (yes, I've gotten it muddy already )

      '66 Mustang coupe with 289, 2bbl, 3spd.

My friend mentioned something about the Thursday night sessions. I'll definitely have to sign up and check it out.

Great looking Ford, how abut some pic's of the tundra, lol. I drive a 06 tundra as well and also a celica. I love them both, but more into old school cars. I got a 72 LTD that im working on. Has a lot of work that needs to be done to it. Let's just say everything is still original. Even the smog can.

I'd be happy with 99.7% perfect.

I'll definitely get a few photos of the Tundra. It's actually kinda clean for once lol. It was super muddy last week when I went through someone's muddy driveway. At that point I wished we picked up the 4x4 model lol.

Were you a Ford guy that slowly went to Toyota? That's how our family was. We had a '94 Aerostar for over 15 years that was running fine except for some oil consumption when we sold it. There was a '96 Crown Vic for a while and the '66 we've had around for longer than I've been alive lol.

We slowly moved to Toyotas in the '00s starting with my parent's LS400, my sister's Matrix, the Tundra, and my ex-daily driver Corolla. So reliable it's stupid but also kinda boring, which is why I moved on to...

oh most definitely (except for the whole chiptastic paint thing ). Boxer engine is ridiculously smooth. My family doesn't understand why I wanted one so much but only because I haven't really driven them in the car lol.
