Hi to all. New to this forum stuff but need some info. I have a problem with tree sap. Can anyone give a hint as to what to use to remove it from my paint with out removing the wax as well?

It wont be removed without removing wax, unless washing alone removes it.
You could use clay, a paint cleaner, or glass cleaner to remove it. But those will remove the wax.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue -

WhaT KIND OF TREE? iS IT PINE? If it is pine, you can carefully push the edge with an old credit card. If it has hardened, it will pop off. Be careful not to scratch the surface. Is it is not hard it will slide off. Use bug cleaner carefully on the residue. Re-wax the area. Take an axe to the tree. Do not tell a lie, if it is cherry.Comment

Try pressure washing followed with an application of an OTC bug/tar remover.Nick

I recommend using IPA (Isoprophyl Acohol).....works like a charm!
Here is a Thread I threw up Dec 2010 on a Honda Accord that I cleaned up and it was just trashed with sap..........

I like Stoner Tarminator for removing tree sap. It seems to work better than other over-the-counter products. The local O'Reilly Auto Parts store here in Roanoke carries it. But you will have to re-wax the affected area.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.
