  • New member - awesome site!

    Hey everybody,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the site.

I've always been a big Meguiar's fan ever since I bought my first 'real' car back in 2006 - my World Rally Blue STi. Back then, I had no idea what I was doing but at least I picked the right brand. I did a tiny bit of research, grabbed some Gold Class car wash and Gold Class liquid wax, and went to work. That alone definitely kept my STi lookin nice and shiny, but since it's my DD, it quickly accumulated many scratches, chips, and other un-pleasantries. I became more and more disheartened with every wash/wax. Eventually, I just gave in and accepted the fact that there was nothing I could do.

Just a couple of weeks ago, my wife and I purchased our second car, a 2010 Legacy in White Pearl. At first glance, the paint looked pretty good (other than the small hail damage from crazy storms we've been having here). It was after a close examination that I decided to start researching what I can do about each issue and how to keep it looking its best. It's no coincidence I ended up here.

I've been totally absorbed with this site. I've been reading all of the how-to's, looking over other peoples questions, and learning a ton.

I've never seen a company forum with so many dedicated employees that regularly visit the site and actually post. Mikes answers have been awesome in the few posts I've read so far.

Anyway, I'll hopefully be posting a few of the issues I've found with the Legacy in the Detail 101 section, and I have plans to try the D/A microfiber correction system on my STi, so I'll be posting my progress on that as well in the future.

Thanks for reading (and thanks for a great site/community),

    -Aaron S.

Your cars will look better than new in no time.
DA MF Correction System - great for defect removal, you're gonna like it.

      Thanks for the welcoming, Greg

I'm pretty excited to start familiarizing myself with both the Meguiars G110V2 and the MF Correction System. I think I'll use the G110 to just put some NXT 2.0 on the Legacy at first to get used to a D/A buffer for a while. Watching the videos of the Meguiars pros really makes it look easy, but I know it's going to turn out to be a big (and probably humbling) learning experience.
