  • Hello from Maryland!

I'm just a teenager who loves car! My first and current car is a 2006 Night Hawk Black Pearl Honda Civic Si. I guess you could say I'm a hardcore import fan. I love old muscle cars as should the next person however! I've always loved working with cars and giving them a good cleaning. It's fulfilling to appreciate something you build or did by hand. My car has some modifications, but with a never ending list. There's always something I want to modify to it. Make it my own creation because after all this has been the car I've always wanted, and to tune. Take a look for yourself!!! http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/car-b...ext-heavy.html Cleaning-wise, I want to give it a good detail. Since my car is black it shows a lot of imperfections but looks great clean. When I clean it, I usually use Meguiars car wash to clean the car, And Hot tire shine gel for the wheels, And interior cleaner too. When I wax it I like to use Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0. And naturally there will be some swirl marks, and cobwebs, even though it looks clean and shiny. What I'm wondering is how do I get rid of those swirls, for a great shine and great looking paint?
    Would I?
    1. wash it
    2. clean it with say a clay bar and scratch X
    3. Wax it with Tech Wax?

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks for looking!

Welcome! Black cars are a labor of love.

Ultimate compound or SwirlX can rid you of the swirls.

Also look into a grit guard for washing! Will save you many a headache when you do remove the swirls by not placing them back when washing.

Search on the forum for the five step process. It spells out the steps necessary to keep your civic looking top notch.
