  • New guy checking in!!!

New guy here. Just thought I'd check in and say hello. I'm new to this and will have a lot of questions in the coming months. But from what I have been reading, there seems to be a lot of you that are patient and helpful. A little about my self. I live in deep south Texas. The heat is bad!!! Love to hunt and fish, so you can imagine what my truck goes through. Anyways, last summer I bought a new to me 2009 Chevy black Z71 truck. Yup, the previous owner must have used a wire brush to wash the truck. I exaggerated just a bit, but nonetheless the truck has a lot of swirls and scratches. I have made it my mission to have a swirl free black truck and make it look as best as it can. I know with all of you all's help I will be able to. I have the basic products to start: clay kit, scratch X 2.0, ultimate polish, wax. Hope with all the ready and helpful tips I will be able to get rid of the swirls and protect my truck from this Texas heat. Thanks in advance.

You'll probably want some Ult. Compound. Working by hand / machine? Any pics?

I figured I'd start off with something less aggressive and if that didn't work I would move up to something a bit aggressive like ultimate compound. I will be working by hand. I know, I got my work cut out for me. Pics will come as soon as I get home. Doing this from my phone.

A panel a day or so is perfectly ok.
