thinking about getting the megs body duster its on sale at ads does anyone have one? how do you like it?

I have one, and I have two black vehicles that I am pretty perticular about. It works great for removing dust. I usually will use it to go over my car before I use Last touch or Final Inspection with a MF to shine my cars up. I have not seen any marring from using it as long as the vehicle is not dirty.

    I would recommend one.

I have to get one of these as well, I really like the idea of "dusting" prior to a QD application. I prefer not to QD black unless its just after a wash, but the body duster may just help "preclean".

I have one and had asked the same questions about its uses.
          I like it a lot.
it has the removable handle like all the brushes.
It does not leave an oil streak. I had used the OCD in the past. actually still have it in the garage, but wanted to complete my Meg's line, so I order the Meg's body duster.
it works extremely well especially right before you do a QD.

Hmm, now I have some questions.

I've used a california carduster in the recent past. The dust head was grey and I noticed that dust was basically not coming off the duster and have since stopped using it. The instructions said to shake the duster vigorously after use, and that didn't seem to work. I only used the duster when the car was clean and hadn't been driven after a wash, so there was only light dust present.

Question 1. If the VABD traps and lifts away dust how do you clean off the duster head?

Question 2. If the VABD does retain some dust does it appear to leave any swirling? Has anyone using the VABD noticed any swirling possibly caused by the VABD?

Question 3. Under what conditions is VABD uses recommended and not recommended?

Please understand I'm not trying to attack any product just looking to be enlightend. TIA

            Robert

I also use it for "dusting" prior to a QD application AND I also use it for a few days after a QD.....and my truck is also black. No problems as long as you let the paint cool off first (don't use when the car is hot, it can melt the wax in the duster and then leave marks.

one of the things you need to understand is that the duster is mainly used to remove light dust.
if you have dirt or say it rains and dirt has build up on the car, the duster probably won't well.
you'll need to completely wash the vehicle if that happens.
but if you keep your paint fresh, QD daily or recently washed. the duster will come in handy each day or twice a day upon your personal preference to keep that light dust off.
remember to glide the duster above your finish. don't press or push down hard as you dust it.
you can't wash the duster, just shake it hard and work another panel.
I'm sure at some point in the dusters' life, you'll have to replace it.
give it a try, only way to know if you will like it or not.

The duster words best if you just have recently waxed your car. Very good product. I used to wash the car when it had light dust on it. Now I just use the duster. Great time saver!!

Just adding my comments. I have a black car that is garage kept. It still gets rather dusty.

I had puchased a California Duster. Didn't like it. It would like streaks and after several weeks of use the handle broke! Seriously how does a plastic handle brake when only used for LIGHT dusting!

IMHO the meg duster works and is constructed much better.

I agree the CA-D does leave those horrible marks that I always had to wipe down to get off. I just got the duster and it works perfect. I even ordered one for my mother since she use to always ask what I did to my car to keep it clean.
