My review of the Ultra Plush Wash Mop.

Packaging & Labeling:
The packaging and labeling was fine.
Usage Tips/Directions:
There were VERY good washing directions/tips on the package.
Performance:
Well, I REALLY, REALLY didn’t want to do this review, as some truly fine detailers here have given this product a two thumbs up, and I'm not sure I completely agree. So, rather than do a regular review on this product, I will do a comparison review with a similar product from a competitor. Hopefully, this will point out some things that I think can be improved to make the Wash Mop a truly great tool.
Anyhow, here’s how they differ when it comes to performance:
The competitor’s telescopic wash glove is a pretty decent lambs wool glove/mop and much softer than the synthetic Wash Mop. In my “mind (not necessarily fact), that makes it safer. I also think it will be safer over a longer period of time, as I find that the synthetic mitts tend to matt up and become “wiry over a short period of time. I also find that lambs wool and high quality cotton mitts rinse out and release dirt particles and other “nasties much better than synthetic fibers. Checking the Wash Mop closely after usage showed this particular issue to be true.
The competitor’s wash glove is considerably larger than the Wash Mop. While the wash mop holds quite a bit of water and suds, the competitor’s wash glove seems to hold even more… another good thing. The thinner, larger backing plate and larger wash mitt on the competitors wash glove felt far more efficient than the Wash Glove. The competitor’s glove felt like it was gliding over the paint surface with less resistance than the Wash Mop. This is probably due to a combination of all the above factors.
Now, the above does not mean that the Wash Mop is necessarily a bad tool in my opinion. It is indeed a very handy tool. Especially for getting the roof’s and windows of large/high vehicles clean. However, I think it could be a much better and handier product with a larger, safer, wash mop/glove. To be fair, there a couple things I would like to see improved on the competitor’s product too. This is where the value of dealing with true car care enthusiasts like the folks at Meguiar’s is really beneficial… as they will listen. I doubt I can even find out who makes the other one?
Value:
Decent value given the price. I would be willing to pay considerably more for an even better version.
Conclusions:
A larger, thinner backing plate with a larger high quality lambs wool/sheepskin wash mop to match the larger backing plate would really make this one a winner.
Hopefully, this review doesn't offend anyone, but simply points out some differences of opinions.
