  • Super Suede Drying Cloth review.

My review of the Super Suede Drying cloth.

    Packaging & Labeling:

As always, the packaging and labeling was fine.

    Usage Tips/Directions:

    Good directions and usage tips.

    Performance:

Well, I’ll be the first one to admit that I don’t use chamois very often… natural or synthetic. However, that does not have anything to do with the performance of this towel. It works exactly as described… it holds a considerable amount of water for it’s size, and if used correctly, it will not harm the paint. It also “slides” across the paint surface very well… better than the natural chamois in my opinion. The trick with this one, and with most chamois, is to keep it “wrung” out (just damp). I actually prefer this one to the new natural chamois (and they are very good).

With any chamois, some extra care when using it must be followed… they can cause scratches.

    Value:

Certainly a good price for a synthetic chamois.

    Conclusions:

This will make a fine blotting towel for those who like to use a chamois.

    Pros:
    Very absorbent
    Cleans up nicely
    Looks to be very durable

    Cons:
    It’s still a chamois.

    Initial Ratings:

Joe Consumer will need to be very careful using one of these.

    Consumer rating = 7

An experienced enthusiast who knows how to use one of these should like it a lot.

    Detailing Enthusiast rating = 9

I just got one of these. Am I the only one who wasn't expecting a chamois? It says Microfober Super Suede Drying Cloth. I was picturing a microfiber towel.....

I'll try it out, but I really don't like chamois very much. I got it in part of a set from work:
    NXT Tech Wax
    NXT Car Wash
    NXT Glass Cleaner
    NXT Cockpit Protectant
    Microfiber Super Suede Drying Cloth
    Ultra Plush Wash Mitt
    Supreme Shine Microfiber
    all for $29.99 including shipping.

My dad needed some wax and car wash, so I split this with him (he got the wash mitt too). I figured it would be a way to try out a few of the new towels, plus the glass cleaner. I probably wouldn't have done it if I knew it was a chamois. Guess I should have read this first!

      My Review:
I personally was expecting more out of this towel. I thought it would work more like an Absorber but with less drag on the paint. What I do find is that yes indead it does have less drag than the Absorber or any natural chamois I have used in the past. That is what I like about this towel, but however it seems to not live up to its claims of aborbing lots of water. I find that you have to wring this towel out alot. It seems more work to dry a car with this towel than I have with other chamois or the Water Magnet. I do like the low drag effect and may use this towel as a two part drying system with another towel for the hood and roof and use this on the side of the car. My overall rating is a 6 out of 10 due to how little water it absorbs.

It works best with a "dry system" I like it on my windows, bed cover and plastic parts... works very well in those areas. Paint I like the Water Magnet!
