  • Detailing my BMW E34 M5

    Hi all,

I've been spending some time detailing my E34 M5 over the past few weeks, i've been doing it panel by panel, concentrating on getting all of the cobwebbing out of the paint. I'm managed to get 90% of it out, only the deeper scratches are left.

I'm going overseas this week for a month, and won't get it finished. I still have the roof, front and all of the trim to do, i'll do them when I get back. Unfortunately, the light wasn't very good here today, and the photos don't do it justice, i'll take some better ones when I finish it off.

Procedure that I've been following is:

    - Clay down the panel
    - Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish, applied with a Dual Action polisher and a 8006 pad, remove with a microfibre cloth
    - Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze, applied with a Dual Action polisher and a 8006 pad, remove with a microfibre cloth
    - Meguiars DC#2 Polish, applied by hand with a foam applicator pad, removed with a microfibre cloth
    - 2 coats of Meguiars NXT Tech Wax, applied with a dual action polisher, and a 9006 pad, and removed with the DA polisher using a microfibre bonnet on a 7006 pad.

I'll finish it off, and take some better pictures when I get back

    Regards

    John
