  • Just finished and need encouragement !!

I have just finished detailing my Audi TTQ (with some help from others on NXT wax application from MOL...thanks!!)

    I have just completed a rigorous polishing process (its a Xmas thing) where I keep the car in the garage and have done the followng;
    • 2 bucket wash, Gold Class, with micro fibre mitton
    • fine cut swirl remover M-0216 with an orbital - microfibre buff - severe marks only
    • swirl remover 2.0 M-0916 with an orbital - microfibre buff
    • show car glaze 7 with an orbital - microfibre buff
    • NXT liquid wax
Just to give your some background on why I had taken the approach interms of my detailing process.

The products I can buy here in Australia is limited so I have to make do with what I can get...not the same product range as in the US

The car itself I bought from an Audi dealer, and was an ex Audi executive car which had only done 2,500km. However, it had been abused in that it had been through the car wash and been severely scratched. Beacause of this it has taken me a long time to get it swirl and scratch free...heaps of hours and a lonely wife!!

The car is not a garage car and does about 25,000km per year.

I ve have attached pics of the latest 3 day marathon session. All of which is done in a garage in the summer warmth of Australia.

Ive never had a black car before.......GEEZ its hard work !!!!

In the pics there are some white dots on the paint this is the evil dust that shows on black cars no matter where they are garaged.

    cheers
    stevett

ps. I would appreciate any comments as my wife thinks im a nutcase and wonders what all the fuss is about...thanks

Looks great! Nothing beats a clean black ride. As for your wife thinking your nuts, I think you need to clean up her ride next. Maybe you can get her hooked on having a clean ride too.

          awesome job
Detailing cars is a form of art. Most appreciate it, few possess the required skill and even fewer understand it.

Thanks for the words of encouragement (feeling so humble).....have to show the wife that the hours are not wasted (yeah, sure!!)

yes, the first pic is a reflection....you can see the same trees in the side shot (pic number 4) just a different angle

Great job. I thought the 1st picture was of your driveway, not the reflection. My wife is understanding of my obsession. She even asks me to make her car look good.

That first shot is amazing!! I thought it was a shot of your driveway too! Awesome job!! Nothing looks better than a freshly detailed black car! My wife thinks I'm obsessed too when it comes to detailing but I never hear her complain when her's is clean!

I like others thought the first picture was of your driveway, my bad. Great job... All you need for encouragement is to look at yor car. Great job,
