  • Beamer detail

I did a very nice BMW today, I think it was a 335i, anyways it was a sweet car. The weather was cold and overcast, so the pictures didn't turn out very good. The owner said he was referred to me by Jimmy Buffit, thank you Jim! Look forward to seeing you in June.

    Here are some pics...

The car was very clean when he brought it to me, It was super cold outside and I didn't want to wash it outside and seeing it was clean to start with, I wiped it down with Poorboys waterless wash, clayed with Last Touch and C2000 clay. The paint was in pretty good shape, but had a few very light scratches. I tried several methods on a 2x2 area until I made a few passes with Optimum Hyper Compound and a polishing pad at about 1200 rpms on the top sections. I didn't completely remove all of them, but made a big improvement. I followed that up with Optimum polish on the rotary at about 1000 rpms and went around the entire car. I followed that up with Optimum Polyseal on the PC with a polishing pad at 5.

I took the plunge and dedicated to try Polycharger, I polycharged 21 and applied it to the entire car and buffed it off after 30 minutes or so. It removed very easily and was very slick feeling. I polycharged some NXT earlier in the day and went over my Grand Prix, but did half the hood with straight NXT and the rest of the car with Polycharged NXT. Only difference I noticed was the polycharged solutions were thicker and didn't go on as easily. The look and gloss were about the same. Only time will tell how well it holds up versus each other...

I used Meguiars Quick wheel detailer on the wheels, (I like that stuff) and then applied the polycharged 21 to the wheels and buffed off. The tires wear the High gloss Endurance, wheel wells - Hyper dressing, glass was polished with AIO.

Great job on the beamer. You have to keep us updated on the polycharger to see if it does make the wax lasts longer.

                Nice car and results
Did you notice diferences between M21 and polycharged M21?
I'm thinking about buying the H2O version to use it with SG, QD's...

                  Re: Beamer detail

Well, the car was very slick after I applied the polycharged 21, but I also know it would have been very similar had I used straight 21. I asked the owner to keep my updated on how it holds up as far as the slickness goes.

I polycharged NXT that morning and applied it to my Grand Prix, only I did one half the hood with regular NXT versus the other half polycharged, so far I cannot tell any difference. I will keep this post updated after a few washes and see if there is any noticeable difference.

Great job. I think the pics are great too. You won't notice it much with silver, but the colors are much truer on an overcast day.
